Answering Questions

Answering questions is a very important component contributing to akatoo’s Reputation Management & Scoring System. When you find a question to which you can provide an answer, keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Address all parts of the question in your response.
  • Always assume good faith on the part of the Questioner and respond in good faith.
  • Remember that your response can be rated by the community, and this will affect your IKU.
  • If the question is ambiguous, do your best to address the issue from all reasonable angles.
  • Make sure your response provides enough information that those who do not know as much about the topic as you can still understand it. In other words, simplify your answer by including related information while avoiding the overuse of jargon.
  • Try your best to have a specific answer to the question, most likely the questioner doesn’t have the time to read a long journal.
  • Make sure you include a URL reference from a credible source where the answer may have a longer and more in debt elaboration on the topic.
  • An answer in your own words is very important before including the URL, do not copy and paste from other websites or anywhere else.
