Earning Points
IKU is the fundamental building block in the akatoo Knowledge Exchange and one of the key scoring outputs from ARMSS. Each member of the akatoo community has an IKU score that is affected, either positively or negatively, as they interact with the akatoo system. While many of the factors impacting the IKU score are proprietary, some of the most important are as follows:
- Asking valid questions
- Answering questions with accurate information
- Rating answers provided by others
- Reputation within the community
- Tenure within the community
- Expertise level within specific knowledge categories
User Ratings – Total IKU
Each user of the akatoo Global Knowledge Community will be involved in a variety of categories. The performance of a particular user within each of these categories will dictate their overall IKU Score. As such, we rate and display ratings for each user on an aggregate/total level, as a function of their categorical IKU.
User Ratings – Categorical IKU
It is well known that the world has experts in many different areas, but there is no one expert in everything. As a result, akatoo provides a another metric that displays the number of answers an expert has supplied in a given category as well as the community average rating of their answers. This score is designed to facilitate the decision process for a Questioner when reviewing Answers and Answerers, while motivating users with expertise in a specific area.
