Rating Answers
Rating answers within akatoo’s Global Knowledge Community is straightforward and based on a 5-star scale. It is very important that users thoughtfully and honestly rate each answer, based on analysis of the answer, the alternative answers available, and of the User providing each answer – since mistakes in rating may negatively impact the IKU score.

One-Star Answer
- Fails to address several specific criteria of the stated question, OR
- Is entirely composed of false, misleading, or inaccurate information, OR
- Is entirely composed of subjective statements presented as facts, OR
- Is a single word (or number) answers without substantiation or elaboration
Two-Star Answer
- Misinterprets the stated question, but provides a thoughtful answer on a related topic, OR
- Contains one or two significant errors or inaccuracies, OR
- Presents one or more subjective statements as fact, OR
- Is factually accurate, but lacks sufficient context or an explanation for the average reader to meaningfully relate the answer to the stated question
Three-Star Answer
- Contains only minor inaccuracies, if any, AND
- Does not present subjective statements as facts, AND
- Directly addresses most or all criteria of the stated question, AND
- Confines itself strictly to the scope of the question as stated
Four-Star Answer
- Contains no factual inaccuracies, AND
- Does not present subjective statements as facts, AND
- Directly addresses every criteria of the stated question, AND
- Constructively notes one or more cases where the original question is ambiguous, AND
- Provides detailed answers addressing one or more of those ambiguous cases, AND
- Offers citations for quoted statistics, and/or links to supporting resources
Five-Star Answer
- Fulfills all criteria for a four-star answer, AND
- Is exceptionally clear & concise in presentation, AND
- Explains a complex solution in an easily comprehended manner, AND
- May accurately anticipate a larger problem or issue which the asker is trying to solve, providing a solution to that problem that extends beyond the literal scope of the original question
