does Germany have a standing army?

The us made it so that japan couldn"t have one, so did the same happen to germany

Yes, originally, Germany was not to have an army like Japan, however, the Cold War precluded this arrangement. Within ten years after the end of the WWII, there are military forces in both the East and the West. The West Bundeswehr was created in 1955, and its East counterpart came a year later 1956. What is ironic is that both armies employed many former wehrmacht (Nazi Army) members.
