Pay varies widely based on grade, qualifications, and duties. According to the Army's website, the average NCO (E5, 4 years of service, married with dependents) makes $46,262 each year. The average officer (O2, 4 years of service, married with dependents) makes $68,149. This includes salary, food, housing, special pay, tax incentives, and health care.
