Can a stomach eat itself?

Well obviously, the stomach doesn't eat, for starters. It simply contains an acid that breaks down food. The stomach is lined with a protective mucous membrane that isn't effected by the acid, obviously.

So, if by eat itself, you mean the acid breaks through the wall, then yeah, it can happen, if the mucous layer dissipates, and then you would die, because the acid would escape and destroy the rest of your organs, hurray.

No, the walls of the stomach are extremely resistant to the digestive enzymes on our stomach. If they weren't they'd eat right through the walls of our stomachs and out into our bodies!
