Hair loss isn't too uncommon, it can be seasonal or due to old age. If the skin turns red, gets flaky, or sores appear it should definitely be seen by a vet. If it has other symptoms or hasn't been seen by a vet in a while, I'd also recommend taking it to one. Some pet stores sell a water soluble vitamin supplement that might help stop it from falling out.

It could also be a sign of a parasite or mites, especially if you have other pets in the house. I suggest seeing an exotics vet just to make sure its not serious. Some rodents do lose their hair as they age, but if the hair loss is all over or there is discoloration of the skin or flaky patches I'd say its a parasite or other skin problem
