If I hand my dog her tail, she will grab onto it and pull pretty hard.

Dogs definitely do have feeling in their tails, but most of the sensation comes from the hairs--that's why they take immediate notice if you touch the tail. They are able to bite onto it seemingly pretty hard because it's made of small bones connected by thick cartilage, rather than the more sensitive thick flesh.

They absolutely have feeling in their tails. Many dogs have a high pain tolerance though and will chase/bite/play with their tails.

They may bite it but they definitely still have feeling in it - even if i lightly stroke the end of my dog's tail, he immediately notices.

Definitely. When a dog's tail is shut in a door or stepped upon, it yelps with pain.
